Collective Lunar
Cycle: The eight phase, approximate 28 day, 360 degree
cycle of the Moon’s orbit in relation to the Sun and Earth from
one Sun/Moon (New Moon) conjunction (in the same place) to the
next Sun/Moon conjunction.
Dark
of the Moon: The three days before each New Moon, both in
the Collective and the Personal Lunar Cycles.
Modalities:
Cardinal Fixed and Mutable, energies that are the driving forces
of the Universe. Another name for Cardinal is Initiating
energy; for Fixed is Holding; for Mutable is Integrating.
Indigenous cultures are aware of these universal principles; astrology
is the tradition in the West that holds the teaching about Modalities.
Each zodiac sign, from Aries through Pisces, carries one element
and one modality.
Multidimensional:
Calling on multiple circuits of our existence simultaneously.
Using more than one
burner at a time. Living with spiritual, psychological,
emotional, physical,
sensory, extrasensory perceptions integrated and unified.
Full functioning living. Aware of the weave of visible/invisible
energetic play of life.
Personal
Lunar Cycle: The sequence of Moon flow that starts with the
phase of the Moon in which you are born as the beginning of the
Lunar Cycle from a personal perspective. As the Moon reaches
your birth
phase in each collective
cycle you can experience this as a New Moon in a personal cycle.
Void
of Course Moon: Native American Tradition and Buckminster
Fuller teach us that energy is contained in form. The Moon,
in her travels, creates relationships of geometric form with the
planets. These patterns of relationship are just like the
patterns of geometric relationship that we experience with other
people. Notice the next time you are at a meeting, look
who is directly across from you. This person will either
be someone who supports you totally, or someone with whom you
have an issue to process. This is the geometric pattern
of 180°, or opposition, the symbol is ?. Another common
geometric forms are the trine, 120°, symbolized by the familiar
shape of a triangle, ?. When the Moon is at a 90°
angle to another planet, this is known as a square aspect, ?.
These geometric relationships
of the Moon with the planets, and us with other people, are in
an ever-changing rhythm of dynamic energy.
The Moon travels the
circuit of the zodiac in 27.322 days. Because of this motion,
the Moon appears to move about 13° against the stars each
day, or about half of a degree per hour as the Moon orbits the
360° of the zodiac. This means that the Moon moves through
one of twelve zodiac signs every two and one half days.
In this two-and one-half day time frame the Moon makes her last
aspect of geometric formation to one of the planets.
The Moon has the quickest zodiacal travel and sometimes there
are no planets in the particular stretch of zodiac to form a geometric
relationship as the Moon is about to move from one sign to the
next. This period of time, when the Moon has made her last
aspect in one sign and before she enters the next sign is said
to be a void of course period.
The duration of void
of course Moon times vary, depending on the planetary alignments
at the time. Some void of course Moon times last only minutes,
other times last for hours and even days.
Void of course Moon
times are great for resting, for meditating, for taking it easy.
These are good times to do housework or filing, or go for a walk,
or read. Because there is no form to hold the energy, void
of course Moon times are not the best time to undertake any activity
of importance to you, such as a meeting negotiation, a new sales
pitch, a planning session for something vital to your business
or your life, or to make a major purchase. Please do not
take my word for this. Check out the void of course Moon
times for yourself and see for yourself how your energy level
feels. If you do engage in important action during these
times, notice how it turns out.
